The Biosphere

The Biosphère is an environmental museum located on Île Sainte-Hélène in Montreal, in the old United States pavilion of the 1967 Montreal World Fair. Following an agreement with the Montreal area in 1990, Environment Canada was given the mandate to define the museum's concept, choose the exhibits and plan the animation and management of the museum. The creation of the Biosphere's geodesic dome, the largest of its kind in the world, is dedicated to the American architect Richard Buckminster Fuller.
